Outstanding performance of Dvořák's classic cello concerto by the German cellist Walter Nothas, when he was flourishing as the principal cellist of the Symphony Orchestra of Bavarian Broadcasting in the spring of 1975. Under the conductor Tadaaki Otaka, who was in his 20's at time of the recording, Nothas and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra created a zestful performance as if by weaving music through conversation.
A superb recording capturing an excellent performance by Walter Nothas in his 30's; 'a true musician' whose honest pursuit of music pieces can be heard in his authentic and profound expressions.
