Recording of Brahms and Schubert's sonata masterpieces performed by a duo, Walter Nothas and Naoyuki Inoue. The German cellist, Nothas, following a career as principal cellist of the Symphony Orchestra of Bavarian Broadcasting, is actively performing as soloist as well as a member of chamber music groups, also teaches younger artists. Inoue, known as one of the most prominent pianists in Japan, mainly performed in Europe and Japan.
Nothas is acclaimed for authentic and sophisticated performance, and his deep apercu captures the pieces' essence. Extraordinary sensitivity and profound expressiveness sparkle in his unostentatious performance. Inoue's piano, with its abundant and cantabile sensitivity, talks in harmony with Nothas's cello, perfecting an ideal duo performance.
