The first 3 compositions of Mozart's Sonatas for Violin (total 6 compositions), published in 1781, were arranged for the flute and published around 1815 by Pleyel et Cie. The album is the first recording of this version of the scores. The arrangement, considered to have been made by the composer Pleyel himself, kept the piano part whilst the violin part was rewritten for the flute, brilliantly retains all the elegance and mesmerizing flow of the original.
Played by two Italian virtuosos: with Gazzelloni's flute opulent yet mellow, and Canino's piano crystal clear and delicate, Mozart's musical allure is omnipresent.
